Highlights of - 1st ANNUAL GREATER AKRON BOATTAIL RIVIERA CRUISE-IN 2011

Thanks to all those who participated
This first Annual North American Boattail Cruise-in was a great success with a variety of Boattails from daily drivers to low mile totally originals to an unbelievable $80.000 1973 600+ HP custom!

A total of 13 Boattails, owners and families took part, some from just down the road and some who traveled from as far away as New York City, NJ and PA.

Braving some real nasty weather to get to the cruise in.

The weather forecast had us worried for a while, there was a 50% chance of rain and it did rain North of us and South of us, but the Buick Gods shined on us and kept the rain away from us

When we where warned about hail falling in N Akron, by the Akron Police, we decided to leave Wolter Park and relocate to the Quaker Steak & Lube in N. Canton, just to be sure everyone and all the boattails were would stay clear of it..
We had an unbelievable "Parade of Boattails" on 77 South, everyone was waving and giving us thumbs-up! If you drive a boattail you do get that a lot imagine what the reaction to 13 of them rolling down the road together was like.

When we got to Quaker Steak and Lube, we were quickly invited into thier car show and they made room for all of us together in the drive-thru lane! we appreciated the warm welcome and of course enjoyed them coming over to check out our Boattails. Once there the sun came out and stayed out for the rest of the Cruise, we never got wet!
Some new friends were made and lots of fun was had by all

Mr. Mike Williams, City of Akron Mayoral Candidate! stopped in to see the Boattails watch the drive past

....Not what your probably thinking - Wolter Park is home to Lodge 7 of the Fraternal Order of Police, what was happening here was Akron Police Officer Doug Matson stopped in "warning of hail" in North Akron, he appreciates fine cars too and didn't want to see any damaged... The Cruise moved to N. Canton as a precaution to keep then them hail free.

1st Annual Greater Akron Cruise In , Sep 9 2011, Due to threat of hail the cruise form Wolter Park to Quaker Steak & Lube, N Canton
